as in the Hospital in Rogers! Can we say LONG WEEK! I just want to update everyone in blog land. Spencer is in ICU for one more night and will be in a room sometime tomorrow. Although it might be late in the day. I am so grateful for every one's prayers. I have be blessed to feel every single one of them. We will be looking a 4 days to 2 weeks in recovery at the hospital then 6-8 weeks at home. Everyone that is asking to help... we will have a lot of needs in the coming weeks. I can tell you all the prayers and help are being paid for Spencer is working soooo hard to overcome each days hurdles. I have been extremely moved by this experience our bodies with the Lord's help, are phenomenal! The Open Heart Surgery Patients have to feel pain, they are not aloud to be "knocked out" because they can catch pneumonia, so they have to keep their lungs moving hard and pain helps you do that. They do try to keep it at bay. They are moved from the bed to a chair often do build muscle and repair, as well as work those lungs! They even have them walk down the hall on the day after surgery! They start with MANY IVS and various tubes-stuff. Then very rapidly their progress removes each one. Spencer has accomplished all this. He has walked the hall several times. All his "things" have been removed including his insulin drip for his diabetes, except basic heart monitor stuff. He has been on a breathing machine last two days for sleep apnea. He will continue this each night for several months. We look forward to a full recovery soon!

We are asking that in lieu of sending flowers, balloons etc. that you help sponsor us for our 5K walk. We had signed all 6 of us up a month ago for the TOUR DE CURE on OCTOBER 11, at Pinnacle in Rogers. We can accept donations that will sponsor each walker and the money will fund finding a cure for DIABETES.

At this point all of the staff at the hospital are pretty confident we will be able to push Spencer in a wheelchair (he is signed up as a VIP-a participant with Diabetes.) He is very excited about this day with his kids and turning our family's lifestyle around to prevent them from this. We have also created a team

Now he will be ready to work hard again today-yesterday he was absolutely exhausted by 1 pm/he just needed to really get some sleep!)

Good to be able to read an update. Glad you sound so upbeat too. Spencer is awfully lucky to have you supporting him. Make sure you let us all support YOU.

Thanks for the update. I will be running in the 5K and Lynar is riding 100 miles--yikes. His brother has Diabetes as well and will be riding along with him. I am a big supporter of funding diabetes. That is cool that you all are going to be doing it.
